Behind the Scenes

Whenever a client has a request for custom work, everyone here at FFE Texas gets excited. We love seeing what our talented staff can bring to life right before our eyes. From custom artwork and centerpieces to furniture...our artists can make it happen.

When Steve Kemble came to us with his vision for the Winspear Opera House Gala, our team immediately got to work sketching and putting a plan together to build over 50 of those beautiful tables.

Here's a behind the scenes look at the process from start to finish.

Winspear Opera House

On October 23, 2009, The Winspear Opera House had its grand opening performance and added its mark to the growing Dallas Arts District. This beautiful building was made possible in part by a very generous donation by Margot and Bill Winspear and many others. To pay homage to their generosity The Onstage Gala was held on November 7, 2009.
.
FFE Texas had the honor of providing the decor for the gala. Not only did we provide lighting and seating, we also custom built over 50 beautiful glass and wood tables specifically for the event.

The tables set up on the stage gave the donors a unique perspective of the Opera House.

The event was a wonderful tribute to the chartible giving of the donors and a great compliment to the beauty of the building itself.

The Winspear Opera House is a magnificent addition to the Dallas Art District and to the City of Dallas. To find out more about upcoming performances and events head to the Dallas Opera's website.

On Friday, October 30, 2009, FFE Texas/SES owner, Ken Thornton, received the LaVonne Rea Exceptional Customer Service Award at the Dallas Convention and Visitor Bureau's 2009 Annual Meeting. Ken has poured his heart and soul into promoting and bettering our city because he believes that “what is good for Dallas is good for all of us.” His commitment to Dallas has been demonstrated by his willingness to do whatever it takes to increase the growth and development of the city, its people and landscape. Ken's business philosophy can be summed up by saying “it does not matter who gets the incoming business...it just matters that business comes!”

Congratulations Ken on this most prestigious and well deserved award.
